鈥淒o you want to build a robot?鈥 That鈥檚 the question and 听posed to a small group of HR, CSR, and employee giving coordinators who we invited to test-drive a virtual volunteering experience.

While many companies are finally filling office buildings once again, the reality is that remote and hybrid work arrangements are here to stay for the foreseeable future. For companies committed to helping the community through employee giving programs 鈥 particularly volunteering 鈥 this means evolving and innovating HOW those programs operate.

精东影业鈥檚 Charities and Give To Get have co-hosted a couple of to help employers manage volunteer events that are inclusive of employees regardless of whether they work remotely, in person, or a hybrid of both. Through the robot-building test-drive event we hosted, we were able to take those webinars one step further by letting the group we invited experience a virtual volunteer event firsthand.

Holly Manuel, Leadership and Community Development Program Manager at United Community BankHolly Manuel, Leadership and Community Development Program Manager at , was one of the individuals we invited to participate in our event.

鈥淯nited is committed to employee development and fostering a strong culture. One of our most critical measures of success is to be a great place to work for great people. That is why we partnered with 精东影业鈥檚 Charities earlier this year to establish our Here For U Employee Assistance Fund. It鈥檚 important that we are there for our teammates to help them cope with unexpected financial hardships that place undue stress on them and their family,鈥 stated Manuel. 鈥淯nited鈥檚 commitment to fostering a strong culture also extends into the local communities we serve. We believe in the power of coming together for good. For that reason, our team is always thinking about meaningful ways we can engage our team in giving back to the community. I thoroughly enjoyed the robot build activity. It was an innovative approach to virtual volunteering that promoted teamwork and focuses on youth development.听 I look forward to exploring the possibility of offering a similar opportunity at United. Thank you for inviting me to participate. I hope my robot and words of encouragement inspire a student to pursue a career in the STEM fields,鈥 shared Manuel. 听

The feedback we have received from other participants has been nothing but positive, and many of those in attendance are now noodling how and when they can do something similar with their colleagues.

For those of you who weren鈥檛 able to join our intimate gathering 鈥 well you are the reason why I鈥檓 sharing this post. Having participated in the event myself 鈥 as an event coordinator and participant 鈥 I thought I鈥檇 share my experience with you to give you a taste of how it all works and maybe even inspire you to give it a try yourself.

(1.) Select a Cause that Aligns With Your Goals and Meets Your Nonprofit Partner鈥檚 Needs

After our teams at Give To Get and 精东影业鈥檚 Charities came up with the concept of this test-drive volunteer experience, the first thing we had to do was the same thing your company would have to do if you were to coordinate an employee volunteer experience like this: decide who your volunteer event will help.

It sounds easy enough, but there are quite a few things to deliberate, such as:

  1. When do you want your event to happen?
  2. Who do you want to participate in your event and what kind of interests and skills do they have to contribute?
  3. Will your event include employees in multiple locations and regions across the United States, more than one country, or a specific local community?
  4. Does your company have any core causes that the volunteer event needs to align with?
  5. Are there any national events, movements, or seasons and holidays coinciding with the timing of your event that might influence what type of cause or need your event will address?
  6. Do you already have established relationships with some nonprofit partners? What do they need help with the most right now?

This is by no means an exhaustive list of things to consider (for that I encourage you to check out some of our helpful volunteer guides), but these are some examples of the types of questions we asked ourselves when we planned our event. Based on the factors that were important to us, we ended up teaming up with and ultimately ended up with the fun focus of the event 鈥 building robots!

(2.) Plan and Promote Your Volunteer Event

After you decide who your event will help, next you will need to choose what type of activities or experiences your event will encompass. For many professionals, that can actually be one of the most daunting parts of coordinating a volunteer event. But the truth is you don鈥檛 have to come up with the ideas 鈥 you should look to your partners for help with that. Schedule time to speak with the nonprofit partner(s) who will benefit from your event. This will help you understand their most critical needs and oftentimes nonprofits will already have a program and creative ideas ready to help you address their needs. Working with a partner like Give To Get not only can help your team select the right nonprofit partner, but they are experts in crafting volunteer experiences designed to address community needs that meet your company鈥檚 specific social impact and employee engagement goals 鈥 just take a look at any number of these .

For our test-drive event, Give To Get took lead on event logistics, coordinating with Girls Inc. and developing the robot-building activity. What I loved about our event was how Girls Inc. was included on the day of the event. Too often, despite a coordinator鈥檚 best intentions, employees participating in a volunteer event can miss out on the important connection of HOW what they are doing will actually help someone. That connection is critical when it comes to providing employees with a positive experience and getting them to participate again in future events. Sydney Wilson, Program Director at Girls Inc. D.C, was invited to speak with participants at our event to share how the robots we were building would be used. In our case, the robots would be used to give students hands-on STEM learning opportunities like coding and inspire girls to gain confidence and interest in STEM-related fields. Included in the robot-building kit each participant received (more about that below) was a card. Each participant was asked to write a note of encouragement in the card, which would be passed along to the young girls using the robots at Girls Inc. I鈥檝e written notes of encouragement to individuals at other nonprofits I鈥檝e supported and have even received written correspondence back from some of them. There is nothing better than making that personal connection with the individuals you are helping. Making that connection in person is not always an option depending on the type of volunteer work or cause involved, so don鈥檛 underestimate the power of something as simple as a handwritten note.

When it came to promoting the test-drive event, 精东影业鈥檚 Charities took lead. We have more than 40 years of experience inspiring employees and organizations to support each other and causes they care about. In addition to providing clients with the employee giving and CSR technology to facilitate their programs, we provide full guidance and service, including help with things like messaging, design, and ideas for promoting event participation using the client鈥檚 unique set of employee communication tools as well as those that are built-in to the employee giving solution they are using.

(3.) Host Your Event

Host Your Virtual Employee Volunteer EventIf you promote your event well, not only will you have a strong turnout, but participants will arrive to your event feeling prepared and excited to volunteer. Leading up to our robot-building event, we made sure to clearly communicate with participants what they should expect before and during the event 鈥 and that included details about when they would receive their volunteer kit and what would be included. After we finalized our list of participants, Give To Get鈥檚 team put together the robot-building kits and mailed them to each participant so that everyone would have what they needed well ahead of the event. In addition to sharing details about the volunteer kit, we also made sure all participants received the necessary logistical information 鈥 since this event was entirely virtual, that entailed video conference and dial-in information prior to the event. We sent those details via an email as well as a separate calendar invite, and reminded everyone to call in a few minutes early to in case of any technical issues.

We kicked off our virtual event with a presentation from Girls Inc. to connect everyone with their mission and to explain how we would all be helping students explore STEM with the robots we were building. And then we got right to it! Hannah Urano, Senior Manager, Social Impact Programs at Give To Get provided an overview of the various components included in the volunteer kit and walked us through each step for building the robots. While our event was virtual, we all had our video cameras on and were speaking with one another throughout the event so it still offered that feeling of togetherness even though we weren鈥檛 all in the same room (or same state/country for that matter). 听

After the event ended, I wrote my note of encouragement to include in the box with the robot I built. Give To Get included a preprinted shipping label, so between being able to use the same box that the robot-building kit arrived in and that shipping label, they made it hassle-free for me to get the robot from my office to the students at Girls Inc. DC鈥檚 location.

(4.) Celebrate Success! Share Experiences and Report Results

After you complete a volunteer event with your team, remember to close the loop and remind participants about the steps you would like them to take next. 听In our case, there were two primary objectives our follow up communication with event participants included: (1) making sure they knew how and where to return their robots; and (2) information on how each participant can involve their own organization鈥檚 employees in a similar type of volunteer event.

The action items you share with employees after a volunteer event will ultimately depend on your organization鈥檚 unique community impact and employee engagement goals. For instance, if you use an employee giving platform like , you could ask employees to use the 鈥淓vent Story鈥 feature, which allows them to upload a photo they took from the volunteer event and share their volunteer experience with colleagues. This type of storytelling helps inspire other employees to get involved in your company鈥檚 employee giving and volunteer program.

If your company has a Dollars for Doers volunteer service grant program where you donate money to charities based on employee volunteer hours, or if your company offers employees paid time off to volunteer, make sure your event follow up communication includes directions reminding them of any actions they may need to take such as logging into your employee giving platform to submit volunteer hours or how to claim the company鈥檚 volunteer grant.

If one of your company鈥檚 goals is to increase charitable fundraising, you could invite employees to amplify their volunteer impact by donating through your organization鈥檚 giving platform. One of the听six top trends听uncovered in 精东影业鈥檚 Charities鈥 Snapshot Employer Research is that employee giving and volunteer programs serve as an on-ramp to full employee engagement.听

Regardless of what your organization鈥檚 goals are, you鈥檒l want to make sure you are tracking and recording results, using your employee volunteer platform. If you aren鈥檛 sure exactly what to track or how to translate your goals into measurable results, a partner like 精东影业鈥檚 Charities can help you with strategy creation, benchmarking, and program analysis and alignment.

Lastly, don鈥檛 forget to let employees know how their volunteerism made an impact. When I say 鈥渋mpact鈥 I don鈥檛 mean the standard units of measurement your company might be tracking like dollars granted, matched, raised, or hours volunteered. Those metrics definitely are important and play a role with regards to monitoring your organization鈥檚 progress towards achieving company goals, but when it comes to communicating impact think in terms of the outcomes you ultimately want to accomplish as a result of your volunteerism.

Here鈥檚 an example framework to give you a starting point:

[# of hours volunteered or # of employees who volunteered] helps [charity name] provide [service or item supplied] to [#of constituents] [constituent being helped (i.e. women, dogs, homeless, kids)], enabling [constituent] to [what will constituent be able to do as a result].

That鈥檚 a lot of blanks to fill, I know. So let鈥檚 apply this framework using our robot-building event:

Thanks to the 14 CSR professionals who volunteered between 14-28 hours total (an estimated monetary value of $400-$800 according to ), we were able to provide with 14 robot-building kits that will help young girls explore STEM concepts, including robotics and coding. Students will have access to extensive online resources to explore additional activities, functions, and curriculums. Since the robots are re-codable, Girls Inc. will be able to reuse the 14 kits with even more girls they serve through their program. According to a recent who do not participate in Girls Inc. programming, Girls Inc. girls had consistently higher mathematics achievement test scores; had higher school-day attendance rates; and reported that they were more excited about science, were more engaged in school, and could handle harder reading than the comparison group of girls. Not only will the robots our group of volunteers made contribute to the physical and mental well-being, academic achievement, and the development of leadership skills for Girls Inc. students, but it will set them up for life-long success and encourage more girls to fill STEM career roles.

Not all nonprofits will have an impact study like the one I referenced above, but if you start with a similar framework and look to your nonprofit partner for resources and answers for any specific outcomes you have in mind, coming up with your impact statement won鈥檛 be quite as daunting. Putting together an impact narrative like this will also contribute to your employees鈥 overall engagement in your program, making it easier for you to promote and grow your program moving forward.

Charting Your Employee Volunteer Program Roadmap

Employee giving and engagement programs are not meant to be static. They should be an ever-changing part of your company culture that evolves along with your business, the desires of your employees, and the needs of the community. The pandemic forced many employers to . As such, new innovations – especially in employee volunteering – have developed out of necessity, and the result has been a flowering of fresh ways to engage employees and communities that are here to stay.

Whether your company has more than a decade of employee volunteer experience or wants to start a program from scratch, employee volunteer and skills giving programs can help build your nonprofit partner鈥檚 capacity and meet some of their most urgent needs, as well as address some of your organization鈥檚 internal goals related to things like recruiting and retention, employee satisfaction, leadership and skill development, brand value, innovation, community relationships, and more.

When it comes to holding an employee volunteer event or rolling out an entirely new volunteer program, think through the steps outlined above and how partners like 精东影业鈥檚 Charities and Give To Get can help you yield more powerful and meaningful employee volunteer experiences.

Miguel was a shy freshman when he joined his high school鈥檚 FIRST庐 Robotics Competition team. With the encouragement of his mentors, he came out of his shell to become a confident public speaker and the team鈥檚 president. Miguel says he learned more than how to design and build a robot on the team: 鈥淚 don鈥檛 really know where I would be if it weren鈥檛 for what robotics has taught me when it comes to communications, sportsmanship, and technology.鈥

庐 (For Inspiration and Recognition of Science and Technology), a STEM (science, engineering, technology and math) advocacy nonprofit, is a sport for the mind where every kid can go pro. Millions of students have participated in hands-on FIRST programs for kids ages 6-18. 鈥淥ne of the biggest benefits of FIRST is that kids get set up to find professional success, but they have a lot of fun while doing it,鈥 says Don Bossi, president of FIRST. Through formal evaluation data, improved problem-solving, time management, conflict resolution and communication skills, plus increased interest in doing well in school and going to college.

Here are the top five work-life skills kids gain from participating in a FIRST robotics team:

1.听FIRST participants learn to be creative and solve problems

A FIRST庐 LEGO League team at FIRST ChampionshipStudents must navigate restraints such as limited time and resources to meet deadlines and challenge requirements, but they won鈥檛 let that stop them. At FIRST competitions, each team comes prepared with a different solution to the same problem 鈥 including innovative ways to design and build their robots.

2. They master teamwork and collaboration

FIRST participants at FIRST ChampionshipJust like any other team sport, camaraderie is developed in robotics, too. Students work together to solve problems and meet goals. Plus, there鈥檚 a role for everyone: Team responsibilities range from engineering and coding to fundraising and marketing. By working with others and integrating ideas born from teammates鈥 diverse backgrounds and schools of thought, students learn the true meaning of collaboration.

3.听They find meaningful role models

Educators and parents play a large role in robotics teams, but other STEM professionals are just as crucial. Many FIRST teams have relationships with local engineers, computer scientists, marketers and more who volunteer their expertise and guide students through construction and competition. With companies like NASA, Qualcomm, and Rockwell Collins encouraging their own employees to be FIRST mentors and coaches, these relationships often lead to internships, networking opportunities and jobs down the line. Many students pay it forward, too, and mentor their old teams once they graduate.

4.听They form global friendships

Joining a robotics team is a great way for kids to meet new friends, whether they鈥檙e teammates or competitors. That鈥檚 because, woven into everything they do, is an emphasis on the core values of FIRST. The students know these as Gracious Professionalism庐 (demonstrating respect for others, being a good sport, and sharing knowledge) and Coopertition庐 (competing intensely while also helping others). Some FIRST competitions are international and draw students from upwards of 30 countries, making them great opportunities to expand students鈥 worldview.

5. They lay the groundwork for their future career

Miguel with members of his FIRST Robotics Competition teamThere鈥檚 a shortage of skilled STEM workers in the United States: In 2016, were posted for each unemployed worker, a difference of nearly 3 million available positions. No matter which STEM field students aspire to, there鈥檚 an opportunity to hone their skills through robotics. Findings from an ongoing 5-year longitudinal study by Brandeis University indicate that, compared their peers, students who participate in FIRST are 2.9 times more likely to show gains in STEM interest and 2.3 times more likely to show gains in STEM careers. Even if a STEM-focused career isn鈥檛 where they envision themselves, kids can gain valuable fundraising, marketing and event experience. Most importantly, robotics inspires a lifetime love of learning that is critical to success in an ever-changing workforce.

Robotics provides kids the technical and interpersonal skills they鈥檒l need to meet workforce demands, drive economic growth, and solve the world鈥檚 biggest problem. The supporters and volunteers who carry out the mission of FIRST are helping nurture every kid鈥檚 potential to be a leader and innovator and inspiring the critical thinkers and creative problem solvers of tomorrow. Each year in November, assemble in Washington, D.C. for one of the city鈥檚 largest annual fundraising events – .

Celebrating the achievements of the nation鈥檚 foremost visionaries who have used their status to positively impact the lives of students and publicly-supported Historically Black Colleges and Universities (HBCUs), proceeds from the gala enable TMCF to continue its work as a critical link between students having greater access to higher education and the opportunity to become a part of a new generation of global leaders.

TMCF holds its Annual Awards Gala as the culmination of its award-winning , a national program intended to develop students鈥 leadership skills, create a community of scholars, provide companies with access to a talented and diverse student population, and help students make connections that lead to careers.

TMCF Leadership InstituteA power-packed four-day conference, TMCF鈥檚 Leadership Institute prepares carefully selected students from the 47 publicly-supported HBCUs to compete in today鈥檚 very competitive global workforce. The conference culminates with a recruitment fair where Fortune 500 companies, government agencies and graduate program representatives offer jobs, internships and continuing education opportunities. TMCF鈥檚 16th annual Leadership Institute was attended by over 400 HBCU students from 46 of TMCF鈥檚 member-schools and over 70 corporate and government partners, with over 600 formal interviews scheduled for the event. Additionally, 30 middle and high school students attended as part of TMCF鈥檚 partnership with the U.S. Army, the Vivian Burrey Marshall STEM Pilot Initiative.

, who was honored with the International Humanitarian Award at the 2016 Awards Gala, spoke about the USDA鈥檚 ongoing partnership with TMCF, saying:

鈥淭his isn鈥檛 really about making a donation or providing an internship so that a young person can have an internship or a college education.听 It鈥檚 about far more than that.听 It鈥檚 about building a stronger and more stable and secure 精东影业. You see, when you bring these young people into your life, they enrich you and they enrich any organization or entity you happen to be connected with. USDA is far more creative, far more innovative, far more productive and far more efficient because of these young people coming into our offices all across the United States and all across the world. They bring a different perspective.鈥

Changing the World … One Leader at a Time

Despite the universal challenges that face today鈥檚 college bound student, transform the lives of thousands of students each year by providing unparalleled access to a funnel of opportunities for students to journey to college, through college and into a career.

To achieve its vision of “Changing the World … One Leader at a Time,鈥 TMCF focuses on four areas:

Entering its 30th year, TMCF has provided over $250 million in scholarships, programmatic and capacity building support to students and member schools.

For low-income and minority families, the opportunity gap faced by disadvantaged youth is significant. Nonprofit advisor The Bridgespan Group reports that while afterschool and summer learning programs serve as an important source of support for underserved families, supply does not meet demand. More than 8 million African鈥惥耙祅 and Latino parents of children who are not enrolled in an afterschool program say that they would enroll their children in quality afterschool programs if one were available鈥攕ignificantly higher than the national average. The unmet demand for summer learning programs is even greater, with an estimated 11 million low鈥恑ncome parents reporting they wish a high-quality option were available. Ultimately, according to Bridgespan, only 14% of students from low鈥恑ncome families earn college degrees, and without a college degree, the likelihood that these students can break out of the cycle of poverty is small.

Launched in 1996, the Tiger Woods Foundation (TWF) has a simple, universal vision: for students in need to thrive in school, their communities and the working world. In the wake of the tragedy of 9/11, Tiger Woods knew he wanted to do more than provide golf clinics and programmatic grants. He wanted to create a permanent, safe space for underserved kids to explore their dreams and transform their lives. To address these needs and offer youth a chance to fulfill their full potential, TWF now serves disadvantaged youth through two primary programs: the Tiger Woods Learning Center (TWLC) and the Earl Woods Scholarship (EWS).

In 2003, Tiger, his parents, and community supporters broke ground on the flagship Tiger Woods Learning Center, a 35,000 square foot state-of-the-art facility in Anaheim, CA. Since then, TWF has expanded Learning Center operations to Washington, DC, and established satellite campuses in Philadelphia, PA, Stuart, FL and the Marine Corps Base at Quantico in VA, serving more than 145,000 students. TWLC classrooms focus on project-based learning鈥攔anging from forensic science and aerospace to robotics, biotechnology, video production and graphic design鈥攁nd are equipped with state-of-the art technology and learning tools to deliver high-quality experiences in STEM for students in grades 5-12.听Moreover, the learning center experience inspires and empowers students to achieve their career and life goals through the attainment of power skills- the ability to collaborate with others, manage time and express opinions in a productive manner, to name a few.

Established in 2006, in memoriam of the passing of Tiger鈥檚 father, the Earl Woods Scholarship supports first-generation college students. With a 98.7% graduation rate, the EWS has produced 149 college graduates to date. Scholarship recipients hail from Orange County, CA, Boston, MA, New York, NY and听Washington,听DC. The EWS provides funding, mentoring and internship support to all of our scholars. However, it also goes beyond, providing one-on-one assistance to individuals so they may thrive while they are in school and receive support in decision-making for grad school and workforce entry. This guidance includes pointing students to on-campus resources that can address emotional, physical and academic support. Moreover, providing career readiness workshops for resume writing, mock interviews and basic workforce etiquette are other offerings we have found necessary for our scholars’ future success. 听

At the beginning of this year, TWF launched a strategic five-year expansion plan, aimed at fulfilling Tiger鈥檚 goal of reaching millions of students and teachers worldwide. With plans underway, TWF curriculum and programs will be digitized and disseminated globally. In addition, we have launched STEM Studio, a series of collaborative workshops aimed at providing 5,000 teachers with professional development instruction to change the way STEM is taught in our classrooms. And the EWS aims to double its number of seats by 2020 as well as expand the program to scholars beginning in 11th grade.

Ultimately though, in order to create lifelong learners and truly break the cycle of poverty, our programs foster a growth mindset. In addition to critical academic and professional skills, we strive to make sure our students deeply understand their true potential and work to achieve it. It is this growth mindset, when coupled with good instructional methods and strategies, that is vital to the lifelong success of students from low-income or underserved backgrounds.

At the Tiger Woods Foundation, we are fierce and unwavering advocates for the transformative power of education. You might not expect it when we promise to make the world a better place. But believe us, we will. We鈥檝e been doing it for 20 years.

If your business believes in the power of education and opportunity, and is committed to developing and hiring a new generation of global leaders, then you should know about a truly inspiring event that took place in Washington, D.C. a few weeks ago 鈥 the 鈥

For 27 years, TMCF has held this annual Awards Gala as the culmination of its annual Leadership Institute 鈥 a program in which TMCF trains today鈥檚 students to be tomorrow鈥檚 leaders. This year鈥檚 Awards Gala celebrated the achievements of the country鈥檚 foremost visionaries who have used their status to impart a positive impact on the lives of these students and publicly-supported Historically Black Colleges and Universities (HBCUs), including celebrities, dignitaries, and leaders like:

  • Daymond John, Founder & CEO of FUBU, Co-star of ABC鈥檚 Shark Tank, and CEO of Shark Branding
  • Samuel R. Allen, Chairman and Chief Executive Officer Deere & Company
  • John O. Brennan, Director of Central Intelligence Agency (CIA)
  • Thomas A. Cole, Partner and Former Chair of the Executive Committee Sidley Austin LLP
  • David Hall, President of University of the Virgin Islands

You can to listen to each of these fascinating visionaries鈥 speeches from the gala, but possibly one of the most riveting speeches at the gala, which merits your attention, was from Mary Bacon, a Junior at Choppin State University. You can :

鈥淟iving as a student and experiencing homelessness in Baltimore, Maryland has not been easy. Every day I tell myself, I am okay. But tonight, I want you to know it is not okay anymore.

In this moment, you are helping me to address the fear of failure, not meeting societal expectations, and articulating my circumstance. My 鈥榦kay鈥 has been a simple statement of hope. A declaration of my commitment to myself when I could not cry out and had nowhere to go.听 It has been lonely out there. I spent many nights in my car terrified of the unknown, balancing falling asleep and staying awake and alert to survive. I dealt with a tremendous amount of pain, trauma, and fear.听 As an aspiring social worker and community organizer, it has been hard maintaining a 3.4 GPA, juggling classes, service and work while living without certainty of food or shelter. It is overwhelming.

My education and obtaining an undergraduate degree has been a guiding light in the darkness. Education has been my strength so I can take the necessary steps to move forward. As I look out at your beautiful faces, I am encouraged. I am not only hopeful, but very humble to be a TMCF scholar. You all represent excellence, and it feels good to be empowered and be welcomed in this room.

TMCF, your visit with me and personalized consideration cannot be expressed in words. Thank you for bringing awareness to college student homelessness across our nation. I want to tear down the stigmas that are attached to homelessness and identify for others, there is no specific box that we fit into.听 We are in classrooms, on sports teams, and in campus organizations. It is important to me that you are aware we exist. We have dreams, aspirations, and goals. We want to be successful and live productive lives. We are talented, intelligent, tactful, courageous and beautiful. It is my responsibility to bring awareness to college student homelessness that is so often overlooked and invisible. Thurgood Marshall College Fund, thank you for finally making me, and other students like me, visible.鈥

You have the power to help TMCF continue its work as a critical link between students getting the most from their education and the opportunity to become a part of a new generation of global leaders.

Despite the universal challenges that face today鈥檚 college bound student, transform the lives of thousands of students each year by providing unparalleled access to a funnel of opportunities for students to journey to college, through college and into a career.

For the 2014-15 academic year alone, TMCF awarded close to 400 scholarships to help high-achieving students afford the cost of college and avoid student loans 鈥 positioning them for future success in their careers and financial stability to support homeownership, retirement and future family education. Just this one program leads to a college graduation rate of 97% for TMCF scholarship recipients – versus a national rate of 21%.

However, for every student that TMCF helps, there are others they cannot assist due to TMCF鈥檚 limited financial resources.听 As a business, there are many ways your organization can empower TMCF鈥檚 continued work, including:

  • Sponsor TMCF鈥檚 28th annual Awards Gala.听 to view this year鈥檚 gala supporters, and to learn more about the event.
  • Workplace giving and matching gifts. Feature Thurgood Marshall College Fund in your workplace giving program and offer matching gifts to incentivize employees to join you in supporting TMCF鈥檚 incredible work. to learn more.
