What IS it, exactly?
#GivingTuesday was founded in 2012 by New York’sÌýÌýin partnership with theÌý. Today, it is a global movement that has engaged over 10,000 organizations worldwide.
- It’s a movement that flies in the face of the commercialism that the holiday season has come to represent
- It’s a way for individuals to support causes they care about
- It’s a way for causes to get introduced to even more individuals who care about what they do
- It’s a way for families to spend time (and money) on things that matter- and teach the little ones the importance of philanthropy
What ISN’T it?
Like any campaign or marketing tool, it isn’t a quick fix for an organization that is defective. Nor is it a quick fix to play catch-up on your fundraising.
