Prevent Child Abuse ¾«¶«Ó°Òµ works to ensure the healthy development of children and the prevention of child abuse and neglect nationwide.Ìý We are about getting prevention right!Ìý
Child abuse and neglect takes many forms; abuse can be physical, emotional or sexual and various types of neglect may include physical, emotional or medical.Ìý To prevent abuse and neglect from occurring, Prevent Child Abuse ¾«¶«Ó°Òµ has implemented the program.Ìý The Healthy Families ¾«¶«Ó°Òµ program is a voluntary home visitation program that strives to provide all expectant and new parents with the opportunity to receive the education and support they need at the time their baby is born.Ìý Healthy Families ¾«¶«Ó°Òµ has reached over 95,000 families and expanded to nearly 600 sites!
In addition to Healthy Families ¾«¶«Ó°Òµ, Prevent Child Abuse ¾«¶«Ó°Òµ also has a network of 50 state chapters in order to address healthy child development and child abuse and neglect prevention at the community level.Ìý

Of every dollar Prevent Child Abuse ¾«¶«Ó°Òµ receives, 87% goes directly to current programs and/or the development and implementation of new prevention programs, such as Healthy Families ¾«¶«Ó°Òµ, Pinwheels for Prevention, bullying prevention technical assistance center and child sexual abuse prevention technical assistance center.
No single organization has worked harder or longer to create innovative programs to ensure that our nation’s children can grow in safe environments without the fear of abuse and neglect.
