The State of E-learning and the Potential it Offers Nonprofits (And All Other Sectors)

In his ground-breaking book,听听(2011), Mario Morino urged听leaders of government, business and the philanthropic sectors to take 鈥渂old action鈥 in order to focus increasingly limited resources where they do the most good in addressing pressing social needs. Inspired by Morino’s presentation about outcomes and evidence based philanthropy at the听听a couple months ago, I wrote a blog on ““.

Now, based on听a year of conversations he and his colleague, Katie Paris, had with more than 100 leading thinkers, practitioners, and entrepreneurs, Morino has just released a new report, . 听This report explores the state of e-learning and the potential it offers across all sectors of our economy鈥攆ar beyond the confines of formal education. Whether you鈥檙e a leader, worker in the trenches, or just a curious learner, imagine being able to access exactly what you need, when you need it, in a format that鈥檚 quick and easy to digest and apply. Much of this is now possible and within the next decade, just-in-time learning will likely become pervasive.

The takeaways from听Morino’s听new research are just as powerful and important to the philanthropic sector as Morino’s message about managing outcomes in an era of scarcity was at the After the Leap Conference.
